2 30-something expats trying to make a love child in Singapore.  Our infertility was diagnosed in Oct 2009 and after some searching, we found our fantastic Dr N in Dec.  We jumped straight into IVF#1 in Feb 2010 and haven’t look back.

Before IF, we used to travel (and eat) extensively in the region.  We also enjoy entertaining our friends (poolside bbq at our apt) and a nice bottle of wine now and then.  We’re both far away from home but are definitely happy with our 10 min commute to get to work and the convenient lifestyle this region has to offer.

With the IVFs underway, we have not planned any weekend getaways and are using the travel savings to help pay for our treatments.   Our insurances blow so everything is out of the pocket.  Thankfully, IVF seems to be cheaper here than other places (US or Europe) and as PRs here, we can use our pension savings to offset some of the cost (although our pension has officially hit 0 after IVF#1).

We’ve started this blog to share our experiences and learnings through the process but to also give back to the many blogs I’ve read and lurked as we embarked on this journey.  To the other blogs who have given us a glimpse of the experience and to the successful bloggers who have given us Hope.  Of course, to also document our journey as my memory fails me with each additional ivf shot I receive. (ok — at least during the cycles)

Enjoy and please feel free to leave us any comments.  Thanks for reading.
